Kingsbridge - Salcombe Cruises

Either way, single or return. A scenic 35 minute cruise each way (1 1/4 hour round trip) (check timetable for your return times) follows a meandering channel and passes:

Esturary Cruises (1 1/2 Hours)

Cruising the length of the estuary towards the mouth of the harbour, viewing:

....................The remains of Fort Charles, Salcombe Castle

....................Luxury cliffside properties

....................North and south sands

The Rivermaid makes its turn near Salcombes famous bar, enabling passengers to enjoy the extensive views lokking out to sea and the surrounding cliffs and coastline.

Estuary and harbour cruises (1 hour 40 minutes) continue retuning directly past Salcombe waterfront Shadycombe creek and a look up towards Batson.

 

Estuary and Coast Cruises (1 3/4 - 2 hours)

Cruising the length of the estuary as above and crossing the bar, viewing:

....................Rugged and dramatic cliffs surrounding Bolt Head

....................Cormorants and Shag on the Mewstone Rock

....................National Trust coast and cliff paths

....................Sighting Prawle Point (scene of many shipwrecks), the most southerly part of Devon

If time permits on the return, a look up South Pool Creek towards westerncombe or Gullet may also be included.

Should unfavourable sea/weather conditions prevail, the cruise diverts to the harbour and creeks.

 

Evening Creeks Cruise (2 - 2 1/4 hours)

Excursions meander up a number of tranquil and scenic creeks, which may include Frogmore, South Pool, Waterhead, Blanksmill or Collapit. Discover hidden waterside properties and the estuary's natural beauty.

Occasional evening landing trips to the attractive village of South Pool at the end of a scenic narrow creek, allows time ashore for a peaceful creek side stroll and perhaps refreshments at the quaint Millbrook Inn.

 

Evening Lights Cruise (1 1/2 - 1 3/4 Hours)

Viewing the harbour at dusk and the many glowing lights of Salcombe and surrounding areas as darkness falls.

 

Private Charter

The Rivermaid is available for private charter for your club or group excursions, coach parties, birthday parties etc. cruises can be arranged to suit your requirements, subject to tidal conditions.

 

Notes:

1. Any passenger wishing to travel to Salcombe on a sunday or evening may join the scheduled excursion cruise and the Rivermaid will call at Salcombe on request (not creeks cruise)

2. Some services terminate at the boat yard quay according to tides.
